Letters to the Editor
Proper Name Version

A recent exchange concerning a new translation containing the restored Birth Name of our Savior.  I had written to the Publisher of this new production based on the Authorized King James Bible, the Proper Names Bible, published by Name Publishers LLC. The following is their response to my request for more information about their published work and about those responsible for it.  They did not specify any particular editor or editors the publisher is identified as Dr. Kerby Fannin.  What follows is their response to my request for more information.
Peace, your servant, Dan

Dear Servant Dan,

Of those that object to restoring the understanding of the name of the Messiah and to making the true Word of God more readable and easier for many more people to understand, we are reminded of Paul's advice to Timothy:
1 Timothy 6:20-21, O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.

And in another response:

>> Dear Servant Dan,
>>
>> We are thankful that you are finding the /Proper Name Version of the
>> King James Bible, Study Edition of value and look forward to a
>> positive review from you.
>>
>> It is important to remember that is not a new translation of the
>> Bible. This is a faithful adaption of the Authorized King James
>> Version/ in which the name of God has been restored and the language
>> has been substantially updated. As such, we have received the
>> following permission:
>>
>> /"All Scriptures are based on the Authorized (King James) Version of
>> the Bible, the rights to which are vested in the Crown. Reproduced
>> in the UK by permission of the Crown’s patentee, Cambridge
>> University Press."/
>>
>> This Bible is the result of almost twenty years of effort by
>> faithful contributors with such varied backgrounds as linguists,
>> speech and language pathologists, interpreters of sign language for
>> the deaf, pastors, Bible and theology teachers and students, English
>> teachers, computer specialists, scientists, artists, editors,
>> publishers, school administrators, copywriters, and proofreaders.
>> Each has played an important role in making this Bible more
>> readable, understandable, and powerful by clarifying the English
>> words and restoring the power of the name of God.
>>
>> We have been greatly humbled by the realization that we all have one
>> thing in common. Each of us is a sinner, trusting in the name of Yah
>> for our salvation:
>>
>> "Yah /is/ my strength and song, and has become my salvation." –Psalms 118:14
>>
>> Therefore, we cannot glory in the labors of the many people that
>> have dedicated countless days, months, years, talents, and resources
>> toward this effort of presenting to the world an accurate,
>> easy-to-read edition of the English Bible that exalts the name of
>> Yahweh. Instead, Yahweh reminds us in His word:
>>
>> "Not unto us, O Yahweh, not unto us, but unto your name give glory,
>> for your mercy, /and/ for your truth’s sake." –Psalms 115:1

>>
>> As we considered the binding for the current edition, we made a
>> strong effort to balance quality and cost to the user. While we
>> believe this glued binding to be durable for most applications, we
>> are planning further printings with other bindings. We expect these
>> to include both lower cost, as well as higher cost sewn bindings. In
>> addition, further development of e-book and app editions is in
>> progress.
