A Worldwide Flood?
Worldwide Flood Possibility
Here is a small article about a discovery that would support the ridiculous idea that the earth surface was once covered, completely, in water -- or, is it ridiculous. It would seem that this idea, you know, about a Biblical, Worldwide flood, is no longer just an 'idea", but a very real possibility.

The Earth and its layers, revealing the Ironwoodite layer
The term Ironwoodite comes from this discovery back in 1969, by Thomas (Ted) Ironwoodite

The mineral ringwoodite was first discovered in 1969. [1]The timeline of its discovery and confirmation depends on the type of sample:
- First Meteorite Discovery (1969): It was first identified in a fragment of the Tenham meteorite, which originally fell in Australia in 1879. It was named after Australian geophysicist Ted Ringwood, who had predicted its specific crystal structure. [1, 2]
- First Terrestrial Discovery (2014): The very first sample originating from Earth was physically confirmed in March 2014. Scientists found a microscopic inclusion of ringwoodite trapped inside a diamond from Mato Grosso, Brazil (the sample itself was unearthed by miners in 2008 and analyzed later). This terrestrial find was monumental because it confirmed that vast reservoirs of water are trapped inside Earth's mantle transition zone. [1, 2, 3]

Scientists previously discovered that water is stored inside mantle rock in a sponge-like state, sort of, which isn’t a liquid, solid or a gas, but instead a fourth state.
The scientific paper titled ‘Dehydration melting at the top of the lower mantle’ was published in 2014 and laid out the findings.

"The ringwoodite is like a sponge, soaking up water, there is something very special about the crystal structure of ringwoodite that allows it to attract hydrogen and trap water," said geophysicist Steve Jacobsen at the time.
"This mineral can contain a lot of water under conditions of the deep mantle,” added Jacobsen, who was part of the team behind the discovery.
He added: "I think we are finally seeing evidence for a whole-Earth water cycle, which may help explain the vast amount of liquid water on the surface of our habitable planet. Scientists have been looking for this missing deep water for decades."
Scientists made the findings at the time after studying earthquakes and discovering that seismometers were picking up shock-waves under the surface of the Earth.
From that, they were able to establish that the water was being held in the rock known as ringwoodite -- rock? Some kind of crystal mineral containing all of the components of water held under extreme pressure. However, we do not need to be into the science of geology to understand this.
If this crystalline rock contains just 1 per cent water, it would mean that there is three times more water under the surface of the Earth than there is in the oceans on the surface.

Consider the following:
Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep were burst open, and the sky's windows were opened.
Where did all of this water come from? Busting open from the deep? Sounds like that place they now call, Ringwoodite
Gen 8:2 The deep's fountains and the sky's windows were also stopped, and the rain from the sky was restrained.
Gen 8:3 The waters receded from the earth continually. After the end of one hundred fifty days the waters decreased.
Gen 8:4 The ship rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on Ararat's mountains.Gen 8:5 The waters receded continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.
Where did all of this go, as it receded? Back to the Great Deep -- that layer now called, Ringwoodite? A layer of mineral so thick that if exposed to the surface would turn to water in a volume 2 to 4 times more than the waters already present. Remember, the Earth, as it is, is already two thirds water, add another volume of water of equal or double what is already present and what mental picture do you get? One of a Great Flood, just as described in your own bible.
